Grammy's visit

We've have been dealing with some long nights since Sydney is a colicky baby. Grammy came out to stay for a week to help out. There were a few great days & nights when she got here, so she thought they were crazy. Then Sydney showed her true colors and had a bad night for Grammy to help out with. It was touch and go the rest of the week. And of course the last night Sydney didn't sleep well from gas and Grammy had to hold her for many hours to keep her comfy and sleeping.
Don't forget to check out the slide show...

Brian gave Sydney her first bottle on 3/23. She took one ounce and then decided that was it. Later that night, he tried again and she took the whole bottle. What good bonding time for Dad and baby.

For Aunt Joy

This cutie outfit was from Joy & Gregg and the blanket was made by cousin Connie. How cute our little "bear" is!

Happy Easter

Happy Easter!

Love to all,
Brian, Katie, Syney & Kegan

Night Out

Tracie and Melissa insisted they come over and give us a night out for dinner. What great friends we have! How nice it was to eat dinner together and have a non-baby conversation.

Colic

Friday night was the hardest night we have had so far. Sydney didn't really nap much after The Club and then cried from 6pm-2am! Yikers. We finally broke down and called the ped at 2. Of course, that is the time she fell asleep on Brian's shoulder. She slept there for over 4 hours after that. She was wiped out!. We went to see Dr. Miller on Saturday and he officially said she has colic. Bummer! It seems that the fussiness will move from the night time to the day time. We think that is already happening. Plus Sydney is a mover. She doesn't like to sit at all! She is also a healthy eater - seems to be that colic babies eat more to sooth themselves. She will squash Sara when they meet :-). Other than colic, Mom, Dad & baby are doing well.

Happy Hour

Sydney went to her first happy hour last night. Some ladies from Katie's office went to CB&Potts and Katie and Sydney stopped by to visit.

Snapshots

Here is a link to more snapshots of Sydney. She is growing so fast! She will be 6 weeks in 2 days. Beware, there are quite a few.

Christa - this should be PLENTY of close ups for you :-)

New Friends

Katie met Carrie (daughter Jocelyne) and Lauren (daughter Sophia) at their birthing class. Since then they have stayed in communication and get together from time to time. It is nice to have people around to bounce frustrations, concerns, questions and bragging rights with! This picture was taken on their first Mall Walk. We all met at the Flat Irons mall and walked loops since the weather wasn't very nice. Katie even went back yesterday and walked it for 3 hours. Brian met her and Sydney for lunch. And, no, she didn't come home with tons of purchases. It will be nice to have the weather cooperate so there can be more walks outside down at the lake.

Witching Hours

Sorry for the delay on the blog. Sydney has been experiencing "witching hours". She has the normal baby gas, however seems to be worse especially at night. Katie has taken many things out of her diet (dairy, chocolate, caffeine, tomatoes & peanut butter - what else is there to eat???) to try and find out what causes it to be worse. We are not sure if she has colic - she has been crying from 7-11ish pm almost every night for a more than a week. Needless to say, Brian and Katie are wiped out! Luckily we have some great friends. Tracie and Melissa came over one night to help out while Brian was at a Nuggets game. Katie got to relax with her friends while they did all the work :-). Last night wasn't so bad, Sydney fell asleep on Brian's shoulder around 9:30pm and slept there until about 12:30am. At least Katie got some sleep before the night hours. Hopefully Sydney can work through this phase soon!

Sydney's Nursery

1 Month

Wow - Sydney is one month old today! We can't believe how much she has grown in the past 4 weeks. She doesn't just eat, poop and sleep now. There are more and more awake times and she spends them in our arms or on the jungle gym. She hasn't quite decided that she likes the swing yet.
