Swim Class

Sydney has so much fun in the water. The only problem is that swim class falls right at her first nap time. She got really tired today and then got cranky. Sydney seems like she does better than any of the other kids (besides maybe one) in the class. She was the only one kicking her legs by herself, she did really well when dunked and loved to climb up the side and 'jump' back in. Brian and I switch off during the class so we can both experience this fun time with her. You can't tell today since I was the one taking all the pictures and videos :-)

Daddy's Little Helper

Brian was putting some hooks on the backs of some frames and Sydney wanted to help. Gotta love her hairdo!

Update

No new pictures today. We haven't had much going on since swim class besides work work work. Sydney really enjoys going to 'school' and playing with the other kids.

Her new thing lately is that she will blow her nose in the tissue. Brian blew his nose and then held the tissue to her nose and said "blow" and she actually did it! Ok, so it isn't much that she does, however it helps her cooperate when she has a runny nose. It makes her feel like she is helping. It really is cute.

Sydney's Gran & Pops arrive in town next week to help celebrate her 1st birthday. Wow - we still can't believe she will be one on Tuesday! How time flies! We are having a party at the house next weekend. I will update the blog as soon as I can get the pictures uploaded :-)

A few weeks after that, Sydney's Grammy, Aunt Amber & Cousin Adeline arrive for a visit. Amber & Addie will be visiting from Australia.

Not much going on now, but as you can see we have lots of stuff coming up. More later!

New (Old) Toy

Sydney was given a toy when Noah outgrew it. We stuck it in the basement until she was older. Well, she is older and it was time to bring it up for her to play with. She loves it!

Swim Class

We signed Sydney up for a swim class at the local rec center. Today was the first of 4 classes. She LOVED the water! I took her into the baby pool that slopes down to 3 feet deep. She just kept walking in deeper. Of course I had to pick her up when it got too deep for her :-). Sydney got to play with her mommy and daddy in the class. We all had a really fun time.

Time to get into the pool.

Isn't Sydney's swimsuit cute?

44th President

I just watched the 44th President of the United States being sworn in. Sydney is too young to understand the importance of this event, but she will grow up knowing what happened in her lifetime. It doesn't matter who we all voted for, but that we will all support our President.

A Day Out In Boulder

Wow - the weather was so nice today! We had to get outdoors and enjoy the unseasonably warm weather. Brian stopped for lunch and Sydney decided she wanted some of his fries. She had to make do with a couple of bites of his bread.

Notice the bags under the eyes??? It is due to lack of sleep! Sydney has been sick the last couple of days and has the worst diaper rash we have ever seen. Hopefully it will start to look better tomorrow.

Happy Birthday Brian

Happy Birthday to my hubby! We started the day off going to the Original Pancake House for breakfast. Sydney had a great time and loved her balloon. She wouldn't let go of it all during breakfast. We then went to help Grace celebrate her 3rd birthday. Finally we went out to dinner in Boulder - Sydney stayed home with a sitter.

Grace's Birthday Party

We went to help Grace (on left) celebrate her 3rd birthday. She was so cute in her Tinkerbell outfit.

Another Day with Sydney

Sydney and Sophia had a play date at our house.

Gotta keep walking.

Pancake Lunch

Sydney and I attended a pancake lunch. Sydney had fun playing with the cars with Tracie.

Kangaroo Kingdom

There is a place called Kangaroo Kingdom by our house. http://www.thekangarookingdom.com/

Most of the climbing toys are padded so the little ones can play more easily. Sydney wasn't sure at first about it all and would just watch the other kids.

This is the first area she played at.

Here are a few areas for the younger ones to play. She went towards these type of toys first then ventured to more of the padded play areas.

Look at me, I can clap!

Sydney's new motto: No Fear!

Brain Train

Gran & Pops gave Sydney the brain train at Christmas. Sydney can already pick out the circle and put it in the round hole. Go Sydney!!!! She hasn't gotten the triangle or square yet, but we are working on them.

You may notice the other train behind her (from Grammy). I would put one of the cubes onto the train and all Sydney would do was yank them off. Now she will pull them off and then put them back on. Go Sydney!!!!
