Christmas

Christmas morning started off early with the little ones. We let them open their presents first. Sara actually played with some of her toys - Sydney loved the boxes, paper and ribbon.

Brian and I exchanged tennis shoes. We have been remodeling the kitchen, so that was mainly our present to each other.

Memaw joined us for breakfast and got to watch her great-granddaughters play.

Sydney is having a tea party with her Gran - this was one of Sara's new toys.

Off to Memaw's for lunch and fellowship with all the family. It was a small crowd this year totalling 39 people.

Christmas Eve

Christmas tradition is to first go to church for the Christmas Eve service. As you can see, Sydney was having herself a good time and but couldn't hold out for the whole service. Probably a blessing.

Then we go home and open our new pjs. We have done this since we were wee ones. Sydney and Sara got to start the tradition this year. What cute matching pjs!

In case you are wondering what the heck they are doing with the pjs on their head....that has been my tradition since I don't know when. Somehow I missed out, but Brian and Sydney didn't!

Sara

This video is of Sara talking. It is so cute and will make you smile. Notice that Sydney is oblivious and just keeps playing by herself.

Miscellanious Pictures & Videos During the Week

Sydney was busted playing in the presents. Sydney loved playing by the Christmas tree during the entire trip.

Couldn't pass posting this picture of Sara.
Pops showing Sydney the Auburn snow globe. Already working on converting her the other side!

Betsy and I received a Wii for Christmas. Betsy hooked hers up and we got to play a few games. I have to say we had a lot of fun playing the cow racing game.

Of course we had to introduce The Irondale Cafe to Sydney. She loved it! She enjoyed eating their squash and macaroni and cheese.
Sydney was pooped after all the excitement at Gran and Pop's house.

Trip to Whitney's House

We went to see my friend Whitney and her husband on Monday. Whitney loves to spoil Sydney and had present waiting for her. She even tore most of the paper off herself. We met Ben for lunch since he actually had to work that day. It was so good to see them!

Arriving in Alabama for the Christmas Holiday

Brian, Sydney and I had a long day of travel on Sunday to get to Alabama. Sydney did really well on the plane ride. She took a nap on my lap during the first flight. We then had a 3 hour layover in Dallas - too bad Grammy was already on her way to Florida or she could have gone to the airport for a quick visit. Sydney didn't nap on the second flight but was happy the whole time playing on her daddy's lap.

We went to Betsy and Sara's house after we arrived so that the cousins could play together.

Sydney and Sara attempting to play together. You can watch the video below to see how well that went :-).

Christmas with Tracie & Brian

Tracie and Brian had us over for dinner before we all left for the holidays. She cooked us a great dinner and gave Sydney some great gifts - a homemade book and a CU bunny. Sydney keeps pointing at the bunny in her room and then will snuggle with it. Very cute!

Tracie had a Christmas duck that Sydney couldn't stop playing with.

Portraits

The whole family went to get pictures made while we were in Birmingham. It went suprisingly well with 2 kids under 2! The lesson learned was to get the first appointment of the day. We had a 1:00 but they were running late and super busy. We got some good pictures anyway.
